Sarasota Shopping - Main Street

Along the several blocks of Main Street, you'll find numerous clothing shops, including local names such as Lotus, The Lemon Tree, Freaky Tiki, Rousseau's, and natiional brands such as Brooks Brothers and Jake. Encore & More is an upscale quality clothing and furniture consignment shop, all of whose income goes to women's nonprofits. On Lemon Avenue, just north of Main Street, Sur La Table is chock full of everything for the kitchen. There are also purveyors of gourmet food gifts, jewelry, pet treats and accessories, news and books, The Super Nutrition shop includes a branch office of the Post Office, as well as health foods and supplements. When you're ready for a snack or meal break, the choices are extensive and quite international, including cafe/bistro, Continental, seafood, Greek, Spanish, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, sushi, Italian, smoothies, pastries, and French cuisine. Mattison's City Grille, at the corner of Main and Lemon, is a popular covered outdoor eatery that frequently features live music for both listening and dancing. Whole Foods Market is on First Street, off Lemon Avenue, and is a good spot for people-watching from the outdoor cafe tables in front.
